Playgrounds
There are numerous parks, green areas and playgrounds located around Kidlington. So no matter which part of Kidlington you live in, you will always be able to find a place for your Little One to run around and play with other children, or to have a picnic with your family on a sunny day. Here is the list of the most popular places to go to.
Maple Park
Located close to the Gosford Hill Medical Centre and Gosford Hill Sports Centre. It is a spacious playground with various equipment to suit children of different ages from 12 months plus.
Exeter Hall Park Area
Located to the rear of the Exeter Hall area, just behind the Kaleidoscope Children's Centre and next to the Kidlington Magpies pre-school. It can also be accessed from Crown Road. It is a very spacious playground with a number of slides, swings and see-saws as well as climbing equipment and other attractions. Children's favourite seems to be a ship which has a steering wheel as well as microphones to which they can say things and their parents or playmates can hear them on the other side of the ship.
The Playground underwent a slight refurbishment back in 2010 and now features some new colourful and exciting climbing frames and slides as well as a roundabout.
One great advantage of the playground is that it is surrounded by trees which provide nice shade on hot summer days. There is also a lot of grass which makes it a perfect place for picnics with your Little Ones or even you can organise a birthday party there!
Insufficient number of benches can be a disadvantage on days when the playground is busy and it tends to very popular with parents and children due to its location.
Suitable for kids of any age.
Parkhill Ground Recreation Area
This playground is part of a huge recreation area which includes a football field and a basketball court. It is most secluded of all the playgrounds listed on this site. Located off Benmead Road, to the rear of The Children's House Nursery the playground has a massive lawn and a lot of trees around it. It is then a truly safe place for your Little Ones with no cars making unnecessary noise. The play area has been recently refurbished and has now a lot of exciting and colourful equipment which has made it a popular place among parents and children.
Briar Close Playground
Located in a quiet residential area the playground is ideal for a relaxing time for both the Little Ones and their parents. It is not very big but it is surrounded by greenery, there are a few benches provided and therefore parents can either enjoy a conversation with a friend or a good book while still keeping an eye on their children.
The playground is suitable for kids from around 18/24 months.
Crazy Colosseum Indoor Play Centre
A wonderful place to go to on a rainy or wintery day. It is suitable for children from around 10 months to 5/6 years old. I would highly recommend it as a safe stimulus for your child's physical development. All the surfaces are soft and colourful which makes Crazy Colosseum irresistably attractive to kids and parents. Obviously parent’s supervision is necessary. Another great advantage is a low admission fee (adults enter free of charge). Make sure though you take your own drink or a small snack for your Little Ones and yourself. For more details please visit the Crazy Colosseum website.
